Ramadan ended a few days ago but we are still not able to get over it. The holy month of Shawwal has already replaced Ramadan. Now is the time to make up for your missed fasts and for some extra Ibadah. Having established the habit of Ibadah in Ramadan, try to continue it in Shawwal and get Allah’s blessings.

SURAH OF THE WEEK

An-Nas

Surah An-Nas is the last surah of the holy Quran and is one of the Mu’awwidhatayn. The literal meaning of An-Nas is “The Mankind”. This Surah was revealed to the holy Prophet (PBUH) when a spell was cast on him by a powerful magician, Labid bin Asam, on the request of some Jews.

Uqbah ibn Amr Al-Juhani reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Allah has revealed verses the like of which you have never seen: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the people (114:1) and: Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak (113:1).” Source: Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2902.

Uqbah b. ‘Amir Narrates: “The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to me: There have been sent down to me verses the like of which had never been seen before. They are the Mu’awwadhatain.” (Sahih Muslim Bk.004 Ch.136 No.1775)
