Read more articles SURAH OF THE WEEK An-Nisa Surah An-Nisa (The Women) comprises of 177 verses and was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in Madina. In terms of words and letters, this Surah is the second longest Surah of Quran. Important topics like marriage and distribution of property after death have been discussed in this Surah which increases its significance for the reader. The Surah gets its name from the first thirty five verses that are about women and family affairs.  Narrated `Abdullah (bin Mas`ud): Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said (to me), "Recite the Qur'an to me."
