Far-rights protest in Kyiv, seize Prosecutor General's Office
The activists are outraged, as the Ukrainian authority extradited Russian citizen Timur Tumgoyev, wanted as the ISIS militant
Activists of Ukraine's far-right political forces tried to attack the building of Prosecutor General's Office in Kyiv. The disorder was caused by the decision of the Ukrainian authority to extradite Timur Tumgoev, the Ingush national and the Russian citizen. UNN news agency reported that on Monday afternoon.
MP Oleksandr Aronets, the member of Svoboda party specified that the activists demand to sack Yevhen Yenin, the Deputy Prosecutor General who signed the actual permission.
Judging by the videos uploaded on the Web, and the comments in social networks, the protesters tried to storm the building of Prosecutor General's Office, throwing stones and smoke pellets. The attempt failed, as the security used tear gas.
On September 12, it became known that Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine extradited Timgoev to Russia, as the Russian federal security service requested. Explaining the decision, the Ukrainian side said that Timgoev is wanted by the Russian Federation as the ISIS militant; he allegedly served with the Islamic State fighters in Syria.
Tumgoyev twice asked for the refugee status in Ukraine, but the request was turned down - in both cases.
