Our Destination is the Conscience of Humanity

Those who were trying to sail on the Tahrir in 2011
When I am asked: why? I can only think back to the day in 2011 when I said we would keep sailing until the illegal and inhumane blockade of Gaza ends. The years have passed; I have gotten older, maybe have a few health issues, but I cannot complain. Palestinians in Gaza, on the other hand, are living an unbearable hell on earth, and it only gets worse by the day. The world is failing them and is forgetting about them.
I need to sail as a voice for the voiceless, as a citizen of the world—one of the millions who care but whose governments say little and do nothing, or worse than nothing.
Help us be this voice with a donation here Fifteen years after sailing to Gaza to challenge the Israeli blockade on board the Canadian Boat to Gaza (CBG) Tahrir (2011), I will be on board the PERSEVERANCE this spring.
This spring, the Canadian Boat to Gaza (CBG) vessel, the PERSEVERANCE, will sail as part of the combined Spring 2026 flotilla. This mission, coordinated between the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), Thousand Madleens (TMTG), and Global Sumud (GSF), is promising to be the largest-ever sea mission to challenge the blockade of Gaza. Together CBG and our coalition partners in the FFC bring more than 15 years experience to this international struggle for the rights of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
In 2011, when the Israeli navy surrounded the Tahrir and the Irish boat Saoirse in international waters, they hailed us on the ship radio. “What is your final destination?” they asked. I answered: “Our final destination is the betterment of mankind!”

Ehab on board the Tahrir, on the way to Gaza
And that remains the goal. Whether we reach Gaza and deliver the limited aid we carry with us or not, the sound our boat makes on the water will whisper in the ears of those whose conscience is sleeping: “Wake up and act!”
Join us—even if you are not on a boat—by raising your voice and calling for justice, for human rights, to wake up the conscience of humanity.
Join us please by supporting CBG and the Spring 2026 Gaza Flotilla financially. We need all the support you can give to continue our work together.

Ehab from Canada Boat to Gaza
