Today our PERSEVERANCE participants and other Freedom Flotilla boats passed the closest point on our route to where 22 Global Sumud Flotilla boats were illegally attacked and boarded, resulting in 180 volunteers kidnapped at sea and detained by Israel on April 29, 2026. They marked this passage with an homage to our partners in the Global Sumud Flotilla

This flare marked an international crime scene, and signals our demand that more governments join Brazil and Spain in denouncing this attack and the continued imprisonment and abuse of Thiago Avila and Saif Abu Keshek, along with other Israeli crimes including the unjust detention of thousands of Palestinians.
As the Occupation's courts extended the unlawful imprisonment of our comrades Saïf Abu Keshek and Thiago Ávila, news of the death of Thiago's mother has reached the world. We offer our sincere condolences.
