Canadian Perspectives on Israeli Annexation of Palestinian Lands

In the past, Canada enjoyed a reputation as an "honest broker" that took principled positions on human rights and international law. In 2015, after nearly 10 years of Conservative government, Canada’s newly elected prime minister, Justin Trudeau, declared “Canada is Back”.

From the perspective of Canada’s relationship to Israel and Palestine, this webinar will examine whether or not Canada is indeed back or not. It will also consider whether Canada was ever truly an honest broker to begin with. Following Canada's second consecutive failure to be elected to a UN Security Council seat, it is worth asking how much has really changed since Avi Lewis reported on the "Special relationship" between Canada and Israel in 2010 (you can view his Al Jazeera report here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ2MY58RunM&t=4s)

Please join us at 1PM (EDT) on July 5, 2020 for a webinar hosted by the Canada Boat to Gaza, a member of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. To register on Zoom, please follow this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_QXv7dMk5SZ6cPnZjQgGbHQ
